Accessibility

Effective and last updated: 19 October 2026

Learning should be welcoming and usable.

Our commitment

The Institute for African History and Heritage seeks to make its website and educational information usable by people with different access needs. We are working toward accessible design; this statement is not a certification that every page or external resource meets a particular standard.

Website features

The website includes semantic headings, a skip-to-content link, visible keyboard focus, labeled controls, and responsive layouts. Program dialogs can be closed using their close button or the Escape key. Browser zoom and text-size settings may help you adjust the reading experience.

Limitations

Generated images may contain text that is less accessible than ordinary page text. External websites and resources may have different accessibility features. Some content and interactions may need improvement as the website develops.

Educational and travel access

Website accessibility does not establish that a field destination, vehicle, accommodation, or activity is accessible. Before committing to a program, discuss your specific requirements so the relevant arrangements and limitations can be assessed. Alternative formats and participation arrangements should be discussed in advance.

Request assistance or report a barrier

Email support@therealreturngh.com with “IAHH accessibility” in the subject. Include the page, the problem you encountered, and a preferred way to respond. You may mention the browser or assistive technology involved if helpful. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis.
